Peru Food🍲

This blog will include all the incredible meals we had in Peru! Peru, like Bolivia, was pretty cheap for eating out, so we made the most of this and ate some delicious dishes whilst we were there!

Pasta Canteen, Arequipa

Pasta Canteen was recommended to us, known for being able to create and make your own dish. All you need to do beforehand is choose your sauce, your pasta and toppings, you would get a certain amount included in the price then add any extras for an additional price. Each dish came with a small salad and some garlic bread, which were lovely sides to have.

Chira Fusion, Arequipa

Chira Fusion was my favourite restaurant in Peru, because we had the most incredible traditional Peruvian dishes. We went here for a group date night and shared the dishes between us. We got the Lomo Saltado, which is a Fettuccine stir fry with marinated sirloin, the Peruvian Ceviche and Causa Rellena de Pollo, which was a layered dish of mashed potato, chicken, avocado and mayonnaise and lastly the Rocoto Relleno, spicy stuffed pepper, which came with potato dauphinoise. All of the dishes we had were incredible, the best meal we have had out of the entire trip so far!

Puerto Coffee, Paracas

We stopped off at this gorgeous cafe in Paracas, which was recommended to us for their really good coffee.

Food Tour, Lima

You have to do a food tour in Lima, we did a four hour one and tried so many different, traditional Peruvian dishes.

Three Monkeys Cafe, Cusco

Three Monkeys is a highly rated cafe, known for its incredible coffee. It is so good it has been ranked among the top 100 coffee shops in the world. They serve a variety of coffee, all with different brewing methods, with information of where they sourced the beans. Giving you the option to choose your own coffee beans, makes ordering a coffee a lot more fun and creates a different experience from the usual way. They also offer delicious pastries, that go perfectly with a good cup of coffee!

Cask Restaurant & Bar, Huacachina

Cask Restaurant is a highly rated steakhouse and bar in the Huacachina Oasis Desert, known for its blend of traditional Peruvian dishes and vibrant night life. We went out for a chilled evening here and the food did not disappoint! Molly and I only shared starters because we weren’t that hungry, but the boys had mains and praised the dishes!

Nick and Nates Pizza, Paracas

Nick and Nates Pizza is a highly recommended, North-American style restaurant, which is the go to spot for a delicious comfort meal. They are popular for their generous pizza portions, burgers, burritos and pasta. We got potato skins then two family sized pizzas to share between the four of us. All the food was incredible, the dough a nicely sized thickness, fluffy and cheesy. There was so much food that we enjoyed the left overs the next day!
