Welcome to my travel blog!

I’m Milli, I’m 25 years old, born in China but grew up in London.

I’m not sure what sparked my love for travelling, but as soon as I graduated from University I made plans with my best friend to go travelling in 2020. I spent 7 months working hard and saving for our trip, for it only to get cut short because of Covid-19. However, these three amazing months that I experienced made me want to continue to explore the world and finish what the pandemic stopped me from doing.

This led on to my first ever solo-backpacking trip in 2022. I ended up spending 7 amazing months travelling around South East Asia, seeing and doing the most incredible things. It was both exhilarating and daunting at the same time, but it was the most amazing experience ever. I learnt so much from all the countries I visited and their diverse cultures. From then on, I was hooked on travelling and had already planned my next backpacking trip at the end of 2023.

One Way Ticket Abroad was created during my time in Asia, I wanted to document all the incredible things I had done whilst also helping fellow backpackers with their travels. I had the best experience ever and I wanted to help others experience it too. I started my Instagram page first sharing tips and recommendations on budget backpacking, solo travelling as a girl, all the places I went to, where I stayed and the activities I did. This led onto creating this blog, I wanted to give more in depth recommendations that I couldn’t do on Instagram and here we are!

I love travelling and if my Instagram and blog help other likeminded travellers to have the best time of their lives, that’s all I could ask for!
